Child Safeguarding Statement Motorcycling Ireland

Motorcycling Ireland provides motorcycling activities and opportunities for young people through participation in clubs, regional, international events and through our national teams.

Recruitment Policy & Vetting Procedure

These policies work together to ensure suitable individuals are appointed to positions involving children.

  • The Recruitment Policy sets out how coaches, officials and volunteers are selected.

  • The Vetting Procedure provides the screening process for individuals who will work with children.

Together, they reduce safeguarding risks before an individual begins their role.

Missing / Lost Child & Person Policy

The Missing/Lost Child Policy is a specific safeguarding response procedure.

It provides clear actions to be taken if a child becomes separated from their parent, guardian or group during an activity or event.

Any significant incident may also be:

  • Recorded under the Reporting Policy.

  • Reviewed to identify lessons learned.

  • Considered during future safeguarding risk assessments.

Code of Conduct

Once individuals have been recruited and vetted, the Code of Conduct establishes the standards of behaviour expected from everyone involved in the sport.

The Code of Conduct:

  • Defines acceptable and unacceptable behaviour.

  • Provides guidance on interactions with children.

  • Helps prevent poor practice and misconduct.

  • Creates clear expectations for coaches, volunteers, parents and young participants.
