News Update from the MCI Trials Committee 03.10.25

The Trials Management Committee Host Clubs and Riders meeting and voice support for MCI Insurance Policy for the resumption of Motorcycle Trials and Motorcycle sport in Ireland.

Over 70 Trials riders and representatives of Trials Clubs met in Leixlip, Co. Kildare on the 1st of October to celebrate the 2022-23 season with an Awards ceremony and to hear the update regarding Insurance for the resumption of the sport. In addition, a 5-year Strategic development plan for the development of Motorcycle Trials was presented.

 Acceptance of proposed Insurance Policy

The Trials Management Committee, together with club representatives and riders, reached unanimous agreement to accept the proposed Insurance policy as presented by Motorcycling Ireland to the Management Committee. Although not all details of the policy were available during the meeting, the proposal outlined several key elements. These included licence fees for 2026, a 20 event calendar plus practice days as well as event and participation fees applicable across Adult, Youth, and Mini categories.

While the final specifics of the policy are still pending, the information presented by Brian McLoughlin, MCI Trials Convenor, was well received by those in attendance. This development represents a significant step forward, ensuring that the Trials community remains supportive and prepared to proceed with the policy once it has been formally accepted and agreed upon by all motorcycling disciplines.
